Fireworks on Dad’s Birthday
My dad celebrated his birthday in our family estate last weekend and it was his grandest celebration yet since it was his 50th. It must have been pretty big because he invited all his friends to go all the way to our place, which was quite far from the city. The night started off with dinner, and continued to the program where my dad’s friends had to talk on the microphone and give their messages to my dad. My siblings and I had to play organizers for the event and I was in charge of the logistics. I even had my radio to communicate with my siblings and other helpers. The highlight of the night was the countdown to midnight because his birthday was really on the following day. I made a big mistake by signaling the guys in charge of the fireworks too early into the countdown, so the display went on advance of schedule. Still, people found it nice anyway.
