Using The Hotel California Lyrics Can Really Shock You
March 20th, 2011
California Hotel Lyrics are so full of portentous nuances that they probably caused some people to make strange assumptions about the song. This remarkable song is an Eagles track that won the 1977 Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Even though the Hotel California lyrics came with the album, some people misunderstood them. “She’s got the Mercedes bends” was believed to be a typo when in fact it was an intentional play on words. Band member Glenn Frey has explained that the Hotel California lyrics are a metaphorical representation of their LA experiences at the time. Don Henley, Frey’s co-lyricist, has also asserted that the song is about the sordid part of the American dream. Don Felder at first composed the music for the song then Frey and Henley wrote the lyrics. Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 all-time greatest albums included the Hotel California album, at number 37.
