Biography

Supporting mainstream acts such as Captain and Idlewild, Headlining events like the Swindon Shuffle and the forthcoming Sugarhill Festival along with regular appearances on a variety of regional radio stations are just some of the achievements to date by local Indie-Rockers Talk In Code.

The band only formed in May last year, but quickly recorded a 3-track studio demo and were booked to play a host of shows in and around Swindon. The live shows proved very popular, as did the demo. Local shows were well attended and the band soon ventured out of Swindon with an aim of building up a strong fanbase.

Tour venues were soon varying from Swindon to Southend-On-Sea with sell-out gigs in Newbury, Clapham and Camden in between!

Independent Reviewer, Dave Franklin, sums the band up: “Talk In Code manage to mix a commercial, radio friendly sound with well structured, multi-layered music. They move between memorable riff-hooks and smooth vocal deliveries with ease. Harmonious enough for mass consumption yet clever enough to raise themselves above most melodic rock and revealing an almost country vibe to their lead guitar playing”.

Lead singer, Chris Stevens, explains where the name Talk In Code originates from: “the name was based around the idea of a sense of mystery, to create (hopefully) some curiosity about our music”.
